Don't ever call yourself old. Your body and society will do that for you. I realized yesterday that I was starting to do some "old" things. Like bending over like an old lady, and groaning out loud when I got off the couch. Now don't get me wrong. It's not that I think I can turn back the hands of time I just believe in aging gracefully... and as slowly as possible! Turning 50 has changed my life and I guess I'm trying to adjust. Now I've been 20, 30, and 40 before (that's generally what you have to do before you reach 50) and I just have to say that it's just a matter of adjustment and I'll figure out a way to adjust to 50 (it's just going to have to take a little more work and unfortunately, 50 is when you start losing your energy). For you young ones though I have some advice. For you 20 somethings - quit thinking that your not good enough! That your too fat or too tall or you don't have good hair! You my dears have youth on your side and as long as you have youth you have God given beauty. For you 30 somethings. Your coming into your full beauty. Your face is starting to take shape and mold itself around your bone structure. Your starting to get small little laugh lines around your eyes and lips and cherish these lines because as you get older you'll wonder what it was you use to laugh about. The 40's. Well that's when your in your panic mode and phrases like "Forty is the new twenties" start coming out of your mouth. That's right sister keep telling yourself that. But 40 really isn't as bad as you think and if you take good care of yourself i.e. Demi Moore, well you can still have it going on girl. Just don't get lazy. Now I know that there are a bunch of 50 year olds out there saying ... "I'm 50 something and I'm still smoking" (yeah well they better be Marlboro's or something stronger) and I'm sure I'll get there but for today I'm just going to try to keep from calling myself "OLD".
